THE WORLD’S LARGEST RETAILER PRESENTS MAERSK WITH DOUBLE AWARDS |

Madison, New Jersey – 17 June 2004 The world’s largest retailer, Wal-Mart presented their 2003 ‘Ocean Carrier of the Year’ and ‘Origin Cargo Manager of the Year’ awards to Maersk Sealand and Maersk Logistics, respectively, at Wal-Mart’s headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas. Both Maersk entities transport a large share of Wal-Mart’s department store merchandise from various locations around the world and Wal-Mart cited the two for their cooperation and positive attitude as well as for providing consistent and high-quality service levels. Receiving this recognition from Wal-Mart is a true compliment to all of our global colleagues," said Thomas Thune Andersen, President and CEO of Maersk Inc of the awards. This year’s awards represent the fifth year that Maersk Sealand has been designated ‘Ocean Carrier of the Year’ and the third consecutive year that Maersk Logistics has been awarded the designation of ‘Origin Cargo Manager of the Year’. Both awards were presented by Wal-Mart during their Global Transportation Conference 2004 on 26 May, 2004.
